Atomic Weight And Molecular Weight
Gram molecular volume(GMV):
The volume occupied by 1 gram molecule of a dry gas at S.T.P. conditions is called Gram Molecular Volume.
NOTE: S.T.P is known as Standard temperature and Pressure, where standard temperature is taken as 00C or 273 K ans standard pressure is taken as 1 atm.
The experimental value of 1gram molecular volume of a gas is 22.4 litre at S.T.P or 22.4 dm2 at S.T.P or 22400 cm3 at S.T.P.
For example lets take 1 mole of Helium gas, 1 mole of Hydrogen gas and 1 mole of Oxygen gas
At STP conditions all gases occupies same volume
i.e., 1 mole of Helium gas occupies 22.4 lit
1 mole of Hydrogen gas occupies 22.4 lit
1 mole of Oxygen gas occupies 22.4 lit
