Plane shapes
Triangle
A triangle has three sides and three corners.
The triangle has no diagonal.
The lengths of the sides of a triangle may or may not be the same.
Place a samosa or any triangular object on a paper. Trace along its boundary till your Pencil reaches the starting point.
Rectangle
A rectangle has four sides and four corners.
The diagonals of a rectangle are of equal length.
The opposite sides of a rectangle are of equal length
Place a card or any rectangular object on a paper. Trace along its boundary till your Pencil reaches the starting point
Square
There are four sides and four corners on a square.
In a square, each side is the same length.
In a square, the diagonals are all the same length.
Place a chocolate piece or any square object on a paper. Trace along its boundary till your Pencil reaches the starting point
Circle
A circle has no sides and no corners.
Solid shapes
Cone has 2 faces, 1 edge and 1 vertex.
The objects which have a shape of cone are called conical objects like Traffic Cones, Funnel etc,
Cuboid has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. The objects which have a shape of cuboid are called cuboidal objects like board, book etc.
Cube has 6 faces, 12 edges and 8 vertices. The objects which have a shape of cube are called cubical objects like box, Dice etc
Sphere has 1 face, no vertex and no edge. The objects which have a shape of sphere are called spherical objects like basketball, globe etc
A cylinder has 3 faces, 2 edges and no vertex. The objects which have a shape of cylinder are called cylindrical objects like candle, cup
