LOCUS VARIOUS FORMS OF LINES
Slope form (or) Gradient form:
The equation of the form y=mx where mR, is called slope form.
This type of lines always passes through the origin.
NOTE: (i) In y = mx, if m>0, the line passes through the origin and lies entirely in 1st and 3rd quadrants
(ii)In y = mx, if m<0,the line passes through the origin and lies entirely 2nd and 3rd quadrants
iii)
In y=mx, if the value of m(m>0) increases, then the line moves close to y-axis
(iv)
In y = mx,if the value of m decreases the line moves close to y-axis
(v) In y = mx, m in the tangent of the angle made by the line with the x-axis in the positive direction.
