Force And Pressure
FORCE: A pull or push which changes or tends to change the state of rest or state of uniform motion of a body.
it is a vector. C.G.S units are dyne
S.I units are newton
1N=105 dyne
Contact Forces:
Normal Force: The force exerted by a surface to support the weight of an object resting on it.
Frictional Force: The force that opposes the motion or tendency of motion between two surfaces in contact
Tension Force: The force transmitted through a string, rope, cable, or any type of flexible connector
Applied Force: A force applied to an object by a person or another object.
Spring Force: The force exerted by a compressed or stretched spring
Air Resistance (Drag): The force opposing the motion of an object through a fluid (like air)
Buoyant Force: The upward force exerted by a fluid (liquid or gas) on an object immersed in it, counteracting the weight of the object
Muscular force:It is a type of contact force where force is applied by touching it Due to these forces muscles in our body expand due to conatct.
ex:-In the following examples our muscles do work.
(i)When we push an object.
(ii)Lifting of bucket of water.
(iii)When we pull on object.
Muscular force is the force applied using parts of the body like arms (or)legs
The force which we exert by using our body muscles is known as muscular force.
