Means of Private Communication
The methods of communication used by individuals are known as private communication methods. In the past, these methods could only be used for one-to-one communication, where one person could communicate with only one other person. However, now there are various communication methods that allow messages to be sent to multiple people simultaneously.
The following are the important ones in this category:
Letter is an important one-to-one means of communication. It is a written message on a paper. It can be sent through a post office. India possesses a very large network of post offices all over India. We can send postcards, envelopes, inland letters, parcels and money-orders through them. At present, there also operate a few private courier companies in towns and cities which carry letters and parcels.
Telephone :is a very important means of communication. It is the fastest means as a person can directly dial the number of a person and talk to him. Telephone can be landline or mobile. A landline telephone can be installed only at s particular place, such as home or office. A mobile telephone, on the other hand, can be carried anywhere.
Fax: or facsimile is a quick way to send a photocopy of a message or photo to another fax machine. It is commonly used for business and office communication. Internet has changed the way we communicate. It can be used for private as well as mass communication. Internet is a network of a very large number of computers connected to one another through telephone. It can be used to send emails, written and erbal messages, pictures and videos. Internet is also a reliable source of information. This is the reason that people now refer to Google for any information. It can also show you the way when you are travelling.
